We do our best to keep members from needing hospitalisation but there are times when that is the best treatment option for our first responders struggling with their mental health. It is a very difficult and lonely time being admitted for psychological help.
Show those members that they are not alone by buying them a Code 9 Self Care pack.
We have put together a bag of products to assist with mindfulness practice, a key componet of inpatient care, sleep and other comforting products to help them adjust.
You could help take some of the load when families are at their lowest by providing a weeks worth of healthy meals to a first responder struggling with PTSD. We all know the pain of having to plan a weeks worth of meals let alone actually preparing them. Someone struggling with their mental health often simply doesn't have any energy left at the end of the day and either eats unhealthily if at all. You can provide a weeks worth of healthy meals to someone, show then that they do matter and are never alone.
It is extremely difficult for partners and families dealing with a loved one suffering with Mental Illness. They didn't sign up to be psycological carers and have not experience or training. A mental health first aid course can provide practical skills to help them to manage their partners and better assist them on their journey to recovery.

That is not all Code 9 does to assist our members. A general donation will go toward assistance dog sponsorship, provide other support programs for our members and their families, such a sending kids on camps, and investigate other methods to support our first responders.
